Navigating　ナビゲーション

マウスの右ボタンを押したまま、マウスを移動しすると、描画画面が移動します (マウスポインターは図形のバックグラウンドにないといけません)。
オブジェクトを選んで、右クリックし"Goto next diagram"で他の図形にリックスできます。他の図形にリンクしているオブジェクトは青く表示されます。
ツールバーの前後back and forwardボタンで前後の図形に飛べます。

Adding Objects To A Diagram　オブジェクトの追加

オブジェクト・ライブラリーボタンで現在のオブジェクト・ライブラリーを表示します
使いたいオブジェクトを左クリックすると、オブジェクト・ライブラリーが非表示になります。
オブジェクトを置きたい場所にカーソルを移動してください。
ペーストボタンのクリックでペーストが終了します。
新しいオブジェクトを選んだときに、オブジェクト・ライブラリーを非常にするためには、setup画面で"Auto Hide" をチェックしてください。

バックグラウンドで右クリックをダブルクリックすると、最後に使ったモード（ペースト、テキストまたはリンク）のオン/オフが出来ます。

Deleting Objects From A Diagram　オブジェクトの削除

削除したいオブジェクトを左クリックで選んでください。ハイライトされます。カットボタンで削除されます。

Selecting/ Deselecting Single/ Multiple objects　単一/複数オブジェクトの選択と非選択

カット・アンド・ペーストするためには、オブジェクトを選択したり（赤枠で囲まれる）、非選択にする必要があります。オブジェクトを左クリックで選択になります。
複数オブジェクトを選択するには、左ボタンを押した状態で、選択したいオブジェクトのエリアをドラッグしてください。
オブジェクトがないバックグラウンドにマウスポインターがある状態から選択を始めてください。
オブジェクトがなにも選択されない状態にするには、メニューのEDITからSelect None を選んでください。

Linking Objectsオブジェクトのリンク

２つのオブジェクトをリンクするには、始めにLink Selection Box から使うリンクのタイプを選びます。
リンク・ボタンを左クリックで、カーソルがリンク・モードになったのを表します。接続するオブジェクト間を左クリックで結びます。
また、オブジェクト上で右クリックし、"Link"を選ぶとリンク・モードになります。
リンク・モードを終了するには、リンク・ボタンを再度クリックすると終了です。

リンク・モードでリンクを作る時に、バックグラウンドでクリックをすると、リンクを曲げることができます。

Tip: バックグラウンド上でダブルクリックで、最後に使ったモード（ペースト、テキストかリンク）のオン/オフのスイッチになります。

Linking to Part of An Objectオブジェクトの一部へのリンク

オブジェクトの中心へのリンクがデフォルトです。メニューのFormat にあるConnection Points Option を使うと、オブジェクトのどこの部分へのリンクも可能です。
Connection Points - Unlimited ではオブジェクトの好きな部分へのリンクができ、Connection Points – 1でデフォルトの設定に戻ります。

Linking To Part Of A Background Object　背後のオブジェクトの一部へのリンク

Connection Points をunlimited に設定することで、オブジェクトの後ろ側にリンクを設定するすることができます。
オブジェクトの後ろへの設定方法はObject Properties を参照

Unlinking Objects　オブジェクトのリンク外し

オブジェクト間のリンクを外すには、リンクを外すオブジェクトを選択してください。赤でハイライトさた状態で、アンリンクボタンでリンクを外せます。 .

Moving and Copying Objects　オブジェクトの移動とコピー

オブジェクトの移動は、シフト・キーを押しながら、オブジェクトを移動したい先へドラグしてください。
複数オブジェクトの移動は、コントロール・キーを押しながら、選択されたオブジェクトの中の１つを、希望の場所へドラグしてください。
オブジェクトのコピーは、対象のオブジェクトを選択してコピーボタン. をクリック。ペースト・ボタンのクリックで、ペースト・モードになり、希望の場所で左クリックでオブジェクトをペーストできます。　ペースト･モードの終了には、ペースト･ボタンを再度クリック。

Changing The Name (Or IP Address) Of An Object　オブジェクトの名前とIPアドレスの変更

オブジェクトの名前やIPアドレスの変更では、現在の名前やIPアドレスをダブルクリックで詳細を入力でき、エンターで終了します。
また、オブジェクト上で右クリックから"Properties"を選択し、詳細の変更が可能です。詳細は下記Object Properties を参照ください。
IPアドレスを指定する時に、"/"を付けて、追加情報、例えば、サブネットマスクなどを入力できます。例えば、192.168.55.2 /28 とか 192.168.55.2 /255.255.255.240のようになります。プログラム・ファンクション・キーの使用時には、"/"以降の文字列は無視されます。

Adding Text To A Diagram　テキストの追加

テキスト・モード・ボタンをクリックし、マウスのポイントが十字形¹になった部分でクリックすると、テキストを入力できます。
図のようにテキスト・モード・ボタン²の時はテキスト・モードであることを示しています。
テキスト入力を終了するには、テキスト・モード・ボタンを再度押すか、エスケープ・キーを押してください。

Tip: バックグラウンドでダブルクリックすると、先程まで使っていたモード（ペーストとか、テキストとかリンクのモード）のオンオフになります。

Editing Text　テキストの編集

To Edit text in text box, double click on it.. The Text Mode button will indicate you are in Text Mode.
Press ESC to finish editing the text, or click the text mode button on the tool bar.
To delete a Text Box, double click it and then hit backspace. Press ESC or click the text mode button to complete.

Changing Text Font And Colour　テキストのフォントと色の変更

To change the font or colour of a Textbox on the diagram., right click the text and select Font or Colour.
To change the current default font or colour, from the ring Menu select Format and then either Text Font or Text Colour
You may also alter the text font or colour whilst editing text.

Moving Text　テキスト移動

テキストの移動するには、シフトキーを押した状態で、テキストをドラグしてください。

Adding Float Text To Objects オブジェクトへのフロート・テキスト追加

Information can be displayed when the pointer is held over an object for a few seconds.
To Add or Edit Float Text, right click the object and select Edit Float Text.
Enter text into the Float Text entry box and hit escape when complete.

Adding Horizontal And Vertical Backbones　水平、垂直バックボーンの追加

To insert a horizontal or vertical backbone, select Insert from the Ring Menu and then either horizontal or vertical backbone.
Position the cross hair roughly where you want the centre of the backbone to be and click the left mouse button.
Click the Paste Mode button to finish adding backbones.

Resizing And Moving Backbones　バックボーンのサイズ変更と移動

To resize a backbone, position the cursor over either end then hold the left mouse button down to drag the backbone larger or smaller.
To move a backbone, hold the shift key down whilst dragging the backbone to a new position

Linking An Object To A Backbone　オブジェクトとバックボーンのリンク

To link an object to a backbone, click on the link mode button and then join the backbone to the object. It does not matter what Link Type has been selected when doing this.

Hiding IP Addresses　IPアドレスの非表示

IPアドレスを非表示、表示に変えるにはIPボタンを使います。 .

Using The Programable Function Buttons　プログラマブル・ファンクション・キーの利用

There are 5 programmable function buttons which may be programmed to execute 3rd party applications. The application can be supplied with the IP address or hostname of the most recently clicked object. F1 for instance is pre-programmed to Telnet to the IP address of the most recently clicked object.
The 4 programmable function buttons are also present in the pop up menu when you right click an object.

Customising The Programmable Function Buttons プログラマブル・ファンクション・キーのカスタマイズ

The programmable function button definitions are accessed in the Setup screen. The following Network Notepad keywords may be included in the definitions:
$IPADDRESS - is substituted for the most recently clicked object's principal IP address.
$HOSTNAME - is substituted with the most recently clicked object's hostname.
$EXPLORE - invokes an instance of internet explorer.
eg. $explore c:\mrtgout\$ipaddress.html.......would for example open a html file for an object.
Copy2Clipboard - Copies the resolved definition to the windows clipboard.

Searching Diagrams　図形の検索

図形の検索には、CTRL-Fで検索のテキストを入れてください。次ぎを探すにはF3です。

Customizing the Link Styles リンクスタイルのカスタマイズ

リンクの形をカスタマイズするには、メニューからFormatを選び、Link Stylesを使います。

Link Typeのドロップダウン･ボックスからLink Typeを選んぶか、新しいlink styleを定義するためにはNew Link Type を選択してください。

Formatフォーマット: Line とLightningとLightning2 から選ぶ。lightning style については、14以上の幅からです。

Colour色: リンクの色の選択。

Styleスタイル: solid やいろいろな破線dashed line styles から選択。non-solid styles は幅は１です。

Width幅: リンクの幅

The Saveや Load、Load Defaultのオプションは選択したリンク・スタイルの保存やリロードに使用します。Link stylesだけでなく図形も保存します。

THE OBJECT PROPERTIES FORM オブジェクト・プロパティ・フォーム

オブジェクト・プロパティ・フォームには以下の３つの部分があります

1. オブジェクトと回りの図形のスナップショット
2. オブジェクト・プロパティ
3. リンクのテーブル

Object Properties　オブジェクト・プロパティ

Object Nameオブジェクト名: オブジェクトと名ラベルの関連場所の名前
Object Typeオブジェクト・タイプ: オブジェクト・ライブラリーに示されているオブジェクトのタイプ
X/Y Scale X/Y軸: ビットマップを拡大、縮小するために使用

Backgroundバックグラウンド: The object is drawn in the background so that foreground objects and links are displayed over the top of the object.
Principal IP Address IPアドレス: Specifies the IP address used by the programmable function buttons.
Float Textフロート･テキスト: Text which appears when the cursor hovers over an object.
Link to another Diagram? 他の図形へのリンク: Tick box to enable the goto next diagram option when this object is right clicked.
Location場所: Filename of next diagram (include .ndg extension).
Seek検索: Some text to seek when the next diagram is loaded.
Use bookmarkブックマークの利用: Completes the Location and Seek fields with the latest bookmarked location (Edit > bookmark).

The Links Table リンク・テーブル

The links table shows a table of all the connections to an object.
Clicking any column heading sorts the table by that particular column.
An IP Address, Hostname and Comment may be entered for each end of each link.
The columns are drop-down boxes from which you choose the display position relative the object for the IP Address or Hostname.
The "Add to table"/ "Remove from table" buttons are used to transfer or remove the object's principal IP address and Hostname to/from the table. To enable this button, you must highlight one of the rows by clicking column 0.

Changing Link Types リンク・タイプの変更

To change a link type for any of the connections, click a box in the Link Type column and choose the new link style from the drop down list.

THE OBJECT LIBRARY FORM　オブジェクト・ライブラリー

Click the Object Library button on the main window to display the Object Library.
Use "File","Open" to load alternative Object Library files.

Adding New Objects To The Object Library Form オブジェクト・ライブラリーに新しいオブジェクトを追加

To add a new object to the Object Library Form, copy the bitmap to the Windows clipboard using Windows Paintbrush or similar and then select "Edit", "Paste Image from Clipboard to Object Library" to add the new object. Rename the new object by double clicking the default name.
Use "File","Save As" to save the updated Object Library file.

Deleting Objects From The Object Library Form オブジェクト・ライブラリーからオブジェクトの削除

現在のオブジェクト・ライブラリーからオブジェクトを削除するには、オブジェクト・ライブラリーでオブジェクトを選んでメニューのEditからCutしてください。

Auto-Hiding The Object Library Form オブジェクト・ライブラリーの自動非表示

オブジェクトがオブジェクト・ライブラリーから選ばれたときに、自動的にオブジェクト・ライブラリーを非表示にするには、メニューのFileからAuto-hideを選択します。

Creating New Object Library Files 新規オブジェクト・ライブラリーの作成

バージョン2.4.2ではFile>New で新規オブジェクト・ライブラリーを作成できます。ここまで説明した方法で新規オブジェクト・イメージをペーストして、File > Save As で新規オブジェクト・ライブラリーとして保存します。

Sharing Object Library Files オブジェクト・ライブラリーの共有

A workgroup Object Library (and hence directory) may be specified in the main setup form. Network Notepad will use this library when the shared drive is available. Otherwise it will use the default local copy.
To set this up initially, copy contents of the local objects directory to the shared directory.

The only items on the Setup Form which have not already been mentioned are as follows:
Save X previous versions of diagram保存するバージョン数の指定. This option automatically keeps the specified number of previous versions of the diagram whenever the diagram is saved. Previous versions are stored in the netpadsafe folder within the current folder.
Default IP Address デフォルトIPアドレス. A partial or complete IP Address which will be applied to all new objects added to the diagram.
Grid Line Spacing グリッド・ラインのスペース. Sets the spacing for grid lines when grid lines option is switch on ("Options","Grid Lines").
Export Extension / Commandエクスポートのエクステンションとコマンド. Use a third party program to allow you to export to other graphics formats than .bmp. See below.
Associate .ndg extension with Nework Notepad .ndgエクステンションとの連動. Let's you open .ndg files by double clicking them. See below.

The Diagram Properties Form 図形プロパティ

The Diagram Properties Form is accessed from the main ring menu File > Edit Diagram Properties.
The Diagram Name, Notes1 and Notes2 are text fields stored in the diagram.
Hosts File: Specifies the file used to supply IP addresses. See Below.
Canvas Width and Canvas Height specify the size of the canvas. It is probably best to save and reload the diagram if these values are changed in order for the diagram to be displayed correctly.
Link Text Colour リンク・テキストの色: Selects the colour for text used to highlight objects which link to another diagram.
Make These the Defaultデフォルトの設定: Selects the colour scheme as the default whenever a new diagram is started.

Using A Hosts File To Supply IP Addresses IPアドレス設定でHosts Fileを利用する

A hosts file may be used to supply IP addresses to all objects in a diagram with names which match entries in the hosts file.

1. From the ring menu, select File and then Edit Diagram Properties.
2. Enter the filename of the hosts file in the field provided and hit OK.
3. From the ring menu, select Options and then Refresh IP Addresses to transfer IP addresses to the diagram.

The format for each line in the hosts file should be as follows:

IP Address <TAB(s) or SPACE(s)> Hostname <Rest of line ignored><CRLF or just CR to terminate line>

Adding A Backdrop Image バックドロップ・イメージの追加

現在は、限られた機能しかありません。
バックドロップ･イメージを追加するには、File Edit Source を使う必要があります。でも注意深い操作が必要です。下記形式でファイルの終わりに線を追加し、ファイルを注意深く保存します。

backdrop <filename>

eg.

backdrop c:\images\uk.jpg

The image file is stretched vertically and horizontally to fill the canvas.
The following file formats can be used: jpg, bmp and wmf.
gif format files are not useable as Unisys demand royalty payments for software which can read LZW compressed files.

Export To Bitmap Graphics File Bitmapでグラフィック･ファイルをエクスポート

To export a diagram to a .bmp bitmap file, from the ring menu, select File and then Export To Bitmap Graphics File
Enter a suitable filename or accept the default one when prompted.
Network Notepad supports .bmp format files by default, but you may also save to other bitmap file formats by using a third party plugin conversion program such as Irfanview**.
Eg. To save diagrams in .jpg format, go to the setup dialogue and configure an "Export Extension/ Comand" as follows:

c:\program files\irfanview\i_view32.exe tmpfile.bmp /convert=$exportname.jpg

You may now choose jpg from the "Save As Type" drop down list in "Export to Bitmap Graphics File"

Associating .ndg File Extension With Netpad.exe .ndgファイル・エクステンションとの連動

There is a button in the setup form which automatically associates the .ndg extension with netpad.exe so that Network Notepad is launched on double clicking a .ndg file.

Aternatively the association may be set up as follows:
Open a folder and select Tools > Folder Options > File Types. Select the .ndg file extension or add it if not present.
Select Advanced and add an "open" action if not already present.
Edit and ensure Action is set to "open" and Application used to perform action is set to "C:\Program Files\Network Notepad\netpad.exe" %1
(Or path to where Network Notepad is installed on your system).
